gimme the deal with the water. i moved here from colorado where one could drink water from any household tap and it was cool and refreshing and... i tried drinking water in my roomie's apartment and gagged. i thought it was a temporary thing, or confined to her location, but no. our office went out for lunch and the house water was equally bad. my co-workers informed me that the water here is loaded with fluoride or -i wanna say fillers- but that's not quite right. as i have a short term lease on this dive, i'm hoping to find a place where the water's tolerable and i don't need water filters or spend an extra twenty a week buying it in bottles. please tell me it's not like this everywhere? o.o i would be very sad. i'm currently in the east valley :D any help would be appreciated!

no...it's really that bad everywhere.

Many apartment complexes have a water machine where you can fill gallon jugs for $.50. Also, water filters aren't that expensive. I think my friend has one she bought for $20 - $30.

our water - our soil, thus our water- is alkaline, as opposed to other parts of the country which is acidic due to the high organic content of the soil. Once our flourine and chlorine is added in, the water tastes odd - a lot of it is recycled greywater, which is treated extensively as well.

It's a combination of chemical treatment, high pH, and mineral content.

and it blows.
